Kirsten is a versatile professional actor who has performed in theatres across Canada, appearing in comedies, musicals and dramas; TV, film and radio. She also performs stand-up and improv, with hundreds of live comedy shows under her belt.

Equally adept at handling dramatic and comedic roles, highlights include M Award Nomination 'Top Comedian', Ovation nomination Outstanding Female Performance for ALLEYCATS THE MUSICAL; a Canadian Comedy Award nomination for SIN CITY: RADIOLAND improv troupe at Toronto's famed The Second City; named L.A.’s "Best Solo Artist" for her one-woman sketch comedy THE KIRSTEN VAN RITZEN SHOW, M Award Nomination "Favourite New Production" for SIN CITY CARNIES and an M Award Nomination "Top Improv/Variety Show" for SIN CITY Improv Serial. In January 2024 she was the recipient of the Gold Award ~ Best Entertainer in Community Votes Victoria. 

Kirsten co-executive produced SHE KILLS ME series (APTN); she is a playwright and author (THE COMEDY DIVA DIARIES), and is Artistic Director of Broad Theatrics theatre company. She frequently performs in dance productions with Passion & Performance studio.  

She is a former member of UBCP/Actra, Canadian Actors' Equity and Playwrights Guild of Canada.
